One of the most common questions I receive from clients is how to rank their website higher in Google. This is a great question because it can have huge implications on your site’s organic traffic and rankings. Unfortunately, there isn’t one easy answer as every niche, website, and client has different needs and goals but that doesn’t mean you can’t do anything to improve your website’s ranking in Google! Here are 7 simple ways to rank your website higher in Google based on my experience working with over 100 clients over the last 5 years...

1. Update And Optimize The Title Tags

One of the easiest and most effective ways to rank higher in Google is to ensure that your title tags are up-to-date and optimized. There are some key elements that all high ranking titles have, so follow these seven simple steps when updating your page's title tag: 

1. Make sure it's between 60-70 characters long. 

2. Include your keywords (you should include your primary keyword at least once) 

3. Keep it relevant 

4. Include more than one keyword if possible 

5. Keep it natural 6. Separate terms with hyphens 

7. Never repeat words throughout the tag . If you want to rank higher in Google, then remember that a well-optimized title tag can be your best friend.

2. Add A Meta Description Tag

A meta description is your website’s ad copy. It’s short, sweet, and gives a prospective visitor an idea of what your site is about. Make sure it’s. Related to what people will find on your page (more on that below); ii) 140 characters or less; iii) Unique so that it doesn’t sound like every other site out there. If you have time, craft several different ones each optimized for users searching for different terms and run A/B tests until you find which one performs best. It'll take some time to build up your rankings, but it's worth doing if you want to rank higher in Google.

6. Clean Up Your Code

In order for your website to rank higher in Google, you need to make sure that it’s fully optimized. One way you can do that is by making sure your code is clean and free of errors. Many things can cause code-related issues: bad HTML, outdated frameworks or CSS, and other page elements like images or video. If you’re using WordPress, then plugins are also common culprits. It’s possible that one could be slowing down your site, causing it not only to load slowly but also hurting its SEO rankings. To check on your own, use Google Page Speed Insights. You’ll get an overall score out of 100 as well as individual scores for mobile speed, mobile usability, image optimization, JavaScript optimization and more. Pay special attention to any items marked red those will have a negative impact on your SEO ranking. To fix them, try checking with a developer or looking into new plugins that might help solve problems with speed or functionality. Also keep an eye out for any potential malware. if you see anything suspicious at all (like adware), uninstall immediately!

7. Use Webmaster Tools

Google Webmaster Tools (which used to be called Google Toolbar) is an incredibly powerful tool. Not only does it provide comprehensive statistics about search activity for your site, but it also allows you to do simple things like submit sitemaps and diagnose issues that might be preventing users from finding your site. In order to use Webmaster Tools, you'll need a Google account, which will require creating a profile with your name and contact information.
