How to Learn Ecommerce step by step 2022

The best way of learning ecommerce is one step at a time, and it's not easy. But I'm sure that these tips will help you out and allow you to get started as quickly as possible.

Let’s dive in!

1. Understand Your Target Market

You should be clear about who your target market is, if there’s no need to re-explain this step. Because some people look for products based on their personality or preferences. And I do think that some are able to easily identify a product based on personal taste. You need to know who exactly they are before even trying to understand what they might like or dislike. This step can take some time to learn for everyone, so it’s best that you use the information you have now. (If you don’t know someone that well, it’s ok to start with them).

Next step is to figure out what type of sales this person would make in your niche. If its an adult focused world, then I don’t think this can be hard. It's not so much a long term strategy than finding ways to sell to adults who are more into buying things, but selling products is something that can be done faster. Selling physical items is also very important to keep in mind here.

The next step is definitely a very personal one, because it’s all about understanding and figuring out what your customer would like and what exactly they like to buy from you.

2. Decide On A Unique Store Name

The first thing you want to do when getting started is to decide how you use the name you choose. Are you going to offer free shipping? No, is it going to be a virtual store? Or will it simply be “mystore”? What are the plans for each, because I understand that they look different depending on the industry you're in, but you also want to be careful and make sure that you come up with a good idea.

The next step is to come up with a unique URL for your store. This is where you go through every website you want to use, open webpages that you see you can build a new webpage onto, search for those pages that look interesting and pick any URL you like and put it onto your own site.

3. Create A Shopify Account

Now that we've decided on a unique name and URL, create a shopify account. For your own website, make sure that you create an account with the same name as that you made earlier, otherwise you'll find yourself stuck with two accounts. Then you can check all the available inventory that is available with your products. There are many options, such as the categories that you could add yourself. You can also add additional products or services by clicking the Add to Cart button on the side menu, and selecting the item from there. All of this takes a bit of time and effort to get used to, but when I started I wasn't having none of it. I made over $200 in less than 30 days of starting my business. It's easy and you can also start doing so with just one small investment, and it's always great.

The next step after creating a shopify account is to get your domain ready. When I started, I bought a.mxdomain, which meant that all the links were localhost. That was ok, because it works for me and others, but you can change that later. But I learned it can be hard to switch to another web host, so you can only change to one when you have the choice. Luckily, we come with BlueHost. It’s a cheap web hosting solution but when I started, I had to pay for everything myself. Now though, I’m able to save money and still have access to all of the features I wanted and needed. So far my stores are working smoothly, I have a lot of people telling me the results of my business has been quite amazing and that it really has helped them find success in their lives.

4. Start Reading Websites

Now that you've made all the necessary steps to setup your business, lets move on to actually read websites. Some of the first websites that you will need to read will be Amazon and Alibaba or even Facebook.

Amazon biggest advantage is that most of the time when you Google products it’ll return results for those products. One quick tip: if you really want to, you can click the "Other" category button to read more about other retailers. But you do need to familiarize yourself with the products you're trying to sell.

Alibaba is also a fun platform to look at. Not only is Alibaba great for shopping, it’s a whole different part of commerce, it's easier to register as a user. You can browse thousands of categories and even choose the one you like best. It looks great when you compare your goods to sellers on Alibaba.

Facebook is great because a lot of businesses have been using it and some are thriving and some aren't. Which you’ll find out as you read, which is in the fourth section of this tutorial!

5. Make Online Stores

Last but not least, once the initial setup is finished, you'll want to make an online store for your business, preferably one that you just created. With this, you can share photos of the products that you have, and the descriptions that you have about your product on what you do. In the description you will add things like your tags, colors, quantity, and specific measurements. If possible, make it on your own site because that way it's easier to edit yourself and the prices and product descriptions will match.
