Beginning a Blog isn't quite as terrifying as it sounds. It’s true that you may not be able to make millions of dollars right away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make money at all! After all, even if your website doesn’t become extremely popular and start bringing in lots of money, blogging still offers you an opportunity to create an online presence and build an audience of loyal readers who will value your opinion and look forward to your new posts.

1. Define your Audience

This may seem obvious, but defining your audience is critical. You don’t want to create content for everyone or try and cater to every single niche. You need to figure out who you’re writing for and what their problems are. Once you’ve figured that out, you can start creating content that will be valuable, interesting and engaging for them. This will help with conversions and ultimately lead generation so that you have people coming back again and again (and also referring others). Finally, remember that your audience is growing by one person at a time which is why it’s so important. So get your name out there in front of them as much as possible!

2. Pick a Topic you are Passionate About

The key to creating engaging content is knowing your topic inside and out. To attract an audience, you’ll need to be passionate about your subject matter. If you’re not sure where or how to start, try researching topics that interest you online or in books. Read blogs related to your topic, subscribe to news feeds and set up social media profiles for yourself on relevant platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn are all popular ones). Once you get started with blogging and don’t feel pressured by outside forces like views or followers you’ll come up with ideas naturally. Write down these ideas as they occur so you can develop them further later. The better informed you are about your niche topic, the more easily passion will flow into your writing!

3. Give it Time

With so Many Blogs out there, you might feel like there’s no way anyone would even read your content. To get started, give it time and keep at it. While it may take some people months or years to get established on their blogs, other blogs will see immediate success after launching. The only way to find out what happens is by blogging regularly and sticking with it which is why it’s important to set realistic goals for yourself and stick with them (even if they seem too ambitious). If you want readers and visitors from day one, set yourself up for success by giving your best work on day one. But remember: A reader who sticks around month after month is worth more than 10 temporary visitors who never come back!

4. Differentiate yourself from other Blogs

If you're looking to get started with blogging, there are plenty of sources you can find all over the web. The most common mistake bloggers make, however, is that they write about what everyone else is writing about. Look around and you'll see that it's filled with thousands of people talking about eating right, working out and generally striving for perfection. That's great if you love that niche or topic, but chances are not all your readers will be interested in reading those kinds of posts on your site every day. There are other ways to do things than others have done before; if you focus on offering your readers something they aren't getting elsewhere or don't get anywhere else at all then there's little doubt that they'll give your site a chance and keep coming back for more.

5. Stay Consistent with Posting Frequency

The most effective blogs post on a consistent schedule. Your readers will come to expect your posts, and they’ll look forward to your next entry. If you don’t have time for daily posting, consider posting three times per week or once per week. Determine what works best for you, but try not to be too sporadic with your posts. A couple days without a new post will hurt you in terms of search engine optimization (SEO), as well as losing your audience's interest. There are many free tools available to help you stay on track, such as Google Calendar or Hootsuite. Some blogging platforms even provide built-in scheduling features that can make it easy to keep up with your blogging frequency.
