Top 10 Apps And Sites To Make Money From Home

Nowadays there are plenty of ways to make money from home, and that’s exactly what I’m going to share with you today in this list of the Top 10 Apps and Sites to Make Money from Home. These are all legitimate ways to earn some extra cash by using your skills, and you don’t need to invest any money or quit your job to start making money today!

1. Hiring Help

Many businesses rely on contractors and part-time workers to get things done. If you're looking for a quick way to make some cash from home, look into hiring help through a site like TaskRabbit or Gigwalk. (Hint: Just know that you may need to do some trial runs with these sites to see how well they work.) For example, let's say you want help building your website find someone from TaskRabbit who specializes in website design and get them on your team. Or if you just moved, hire someone from TaskRabbit or Handy to build out your living room furniture and take it back after all of your stuff arrives. You might also consider posting an ad at Craiglist as well. Remember though, Craigslist is just a platform to advertise; use common sense when dealing with strangers online. Be sure to read our safety tips before advertising anything

2. Painting and Decorating

If you're a skilled painter or have experience decorating cakes, consider offering your services to friends and family for their birthdays and special occasions. You could advertise your services on craigslist or Facebook. Picking up occasional weekend work might help you build a little extra cash. There's likely always someone looking for free work or short-term help; do some research in your area and see if anyone needs painters, decorators, etc. A simple online search will give you plenty of opportunities in any given city (and don't forget to ask around among friends and neighbors). You can also offer professional consultation over Skype or FaceTime with people who need help with projects but may not be able to afford your rates. Remember that self-employment taxes can be steep, so make sure you keep track of income and expenses carefully that way, you'll avoid making a costly mistake at tax time.

3. Cleaning Services

TaskRabbit and Exec are two apps that help you book a cleaning service for your home. Although it’s usually not a huge profit center, cleaning services can bring in extra cash if you have free time and don’t mind doing some elbow grease to make it happen. If you already own a vacuum, then picking up one of these jobs will be easy. For those who want to turn cleaning into more of a business opportunity, selling vacuum cleaners is an option (just be prepared to answer questions about whether or not they're durable enough). Of course, these sites also give handy advice on what kind of supplies from boxes to garbage bags you should keep on hand so that you’re always ready for new clients. Write a professional letter based off the following description: A letter asking for forgiveness because I was late to work due to car trouble.

4. Care Taking

Care taking is a great way to make some money from home. The services generally involve providing assistance to those who are elderly or disabled in some way. You might help take care of their financial, day-to-day personal, or even medical needs. However, care taking can be physically strenuous and emotionally challenging. It involves working with people who you may not feel comfortable with and helping them in ways you never have before. If you aren’t sure if you’re prepared for that sort of work, then maybe consider a site like TaskRabbit instead. It allows users to post small jobs they need done around their house and often these jobs can be completed within an hour or two of being posted!

5. Writing Services

Freelance writing is an effective way to make money from home. There are a ton of sites, including Upwork and Freelancer, where you can register as a freelancer in your niche. Once registered, you can begin bidding on jobs posted by employers around your area or country. You’ll have to prove that you have enough experience before getting accepted on these websites and since it’s a new field there aren’t many established marketplaces yet. That said, it might take some time to build up your reputation before getting good jobs that pay well. If you don’t mind putting in a lot of work for little reward, then freelance writing may be for you. Check out our post on freelance writing here.

6. Tutoring

Most of us have some skill that we're not quite put to work yet. If you speak another language, there are plenty of people looking for a tutor. You could also teach music lessons online or offline and make a pretty good income if you have some talent in that area. Nothing is off limits when it comes to making money from home these days, so if you think you can offer something of value and find people willing to pay for it you should look into starting a tutoring business. Be sure to research your local laws regarding licensing and regulations before signing up students, though.

7. Web Development
